Job description

If you're an experienced practitioner who thrives on developing people, strengthening systems, and enhancing quality standards, this could be the perfect next step in your career.

This is an opportunity to step into a varied and influential role within a well-established and respected firm. You'll work closely with our Directors and other Managers, contributing to the ongoing success of the business through quality initiatives, technical expertise, process improvement, and project work.

The role offers flexibility to be shaped around your skills, experience, interests, and career aspirations. Whether your strengths lie in technical accounting, quality management, mentoring others, operational improvement, or a combination of these areas, we'll work with you to create a role that is both rewarding and impactful.

We're a professional, approachable team that genuinely enjoys helping our clients and each other succeed. We believe a great workplace is built on support, respect, collaboration, and opportunities for growth. Alongside challenging and meaningful work, you'll find a team that celebrates success, enjoys regular social events, and values work-life balance.

As a locally owned firm, we're also committed to giving back to the communities in which we live and work. We proudly support a range of local charities, community organisations, and initiatives, and value the opportunity to make a positive contribution beyond the workplace.

Why choose Moore Markhams Otago?
  • A unique opportunity to make a meaningful contribution beyond a traditional client-facing accounting role.
  • A varied and flexible position that can be tailored to your skills, experience, interests, and career goals.
  • Exposure to a broad range of work across quality management, technical accounting, client advisory, process improvement, and special projects.
  • Ongoing professional development and training opportunities.
  • A 37.5-hour standard working week on an hourly rate, with paid overtime when required. Hours are negotiable for the right candidate.
  • On-site or nearby parking.
  • An extra day off on Easter Tuesday.
  • A family-friendly workplace.
  • An active social club and regular team events.

As a Manager, you will play a key role in maintaining the firm’s quality standards, supporting continuous improvement initiatives, and contributing to the delivery of exceptional client service. This is a flexible role that can be tailored to suit the successful candidate’s skills, experience, interests, and professional goals, while supporting the firm’s commitment to quality, continuous improvement, and exceptional client service. Working closely with Team Managers and Directors, you will help drive consistency, technical excellence, and best-practice processes across the firm.

You have exceptional attention to detail, strong technical accounting knowledge, and the confidence to engage with staff at all levels across the firm and clients from diverse industries and backgrounds.

You are highly organised, proactive, and solutions-focused. Others see you as approachable and supportive, and you naturally take the lead when it comes to driving improvements and sharing knowledge.
