Zusammenfassung

WSP New Zealand seeks a Senior Legal Counsel to provide timely, commercial and robust legal advice on engineering and construction contracts. This on-site role can be based in Auckland or Wellington, contributing to landmark projects within a global firm.

You will support bid and project delivery teams, manage risk, advise on insurance, and lead internal training. 7+ years PQE in construction/engineering and NZLS Practising Certificate eligibility are required.

Qualifikationen

• 7+ years’ PQE with experience advising the construction/infrastructure or engineering industry.
• A degree in Law and eligibility to hold a Practising Certificate with the NZLS.
• In-house legal experience in Engineering or Construction.
• Extensive experience reviewing and negotiating engineering services or construction contracts, subcontracts, joint venture, alliance agreements and related commercial agreements.

Aufgaben

• Support bid and project delivery teams in reviewing and negotiating engineering services contracts, subcontracts, joint venture, alliance agreements and related commercial agreements.
• Proactively managing risk, driving regulatory compliance (health & safety, competition law) and adherence to internal governance policies.
• Advising project delivery teams on contractual issues during project delivery.
• Advising on WSP insurance programme and managing claims together with our insurers.
• Developing and implementing internal training and education programmes.
• Contribute to WSP’s success in New Zealand by providing timely, commercial and robust legal advice.
