Job summary

OceanaGold is seeking a Jumbo Operator for the Macraes Underground Operations in Otago, NZ. This residential role offers a 7 on/7 off, 12-hour shift roster and live-work balance in a stunning region.

With 10+ years in underground mining and 5+ years on a Jumbo preferred, you will install ground support, mine headings, and mentor junior operators while maintaining high safety standards. Excellent benefits and relocation support are provided.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 10 years underground mining experience, 5 on a Jumbo preferred.
• Competence in bolts and mesh installation and boring headings incl. declines.
• Experience with Spiling and SDA’s advantageous.
• Experience as a Loader Operator and Development ChargeUp.
• Current First Aid Certificate is required.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate Jumbo development drills to mine headings and install ground support as per minestandards.
• Ensure all headings are mined to size, online and gradient.
• Ensure ground support is installed to minimum standard or above as required.
• Undertake all tasks safely or stop the job.
• Ability to accurately markup faces to Mine plans and Memos and follow those plans.
• Promote a positive team culture, lead by example and mentor trainee operators.
