Job summary

Halter is seeking a Senior Network Engineer to own the performance, reliability, and scalability of our collar and tower network. You’ll diagnose field issues, design architectures, and set the technical direction as Halter grows across farms and diverse terrains.

This senior, hands-on role expects you to mentor peers, drive observability, and partner with firmware, backend, and product teams to ensure seamless end-to-end data flow from devices in the field to the Halter platform.

Qualifications

• Deep experience designing and operating large-scale wireless networks including LPWAN/LoRa or similar protocols.
• Track record owning network architecture end-to-end and keeping it healthy in production.
• Comfort across RF, tower hardware, edge devices and cloud data systems.
• Experience with observability and monitoring for IoT systems.

Responsibilities

• Work with technical and commercial teams to translate on-farm connectivity into actionable requirements.
• Own operation and optimisation of the collar and tower network for performance and scalability.
• Design and evolve network architecture focusing on LoRa, towers, edge-to-cloud data flow, and real-time telemetry.
• Drive network health through monitoring, data analysis, and field feedback.
• Lead deployment strategy, including site selection and remote management for zero-touch scalability.
• Mentor engineers and contribute to cross-functional design discussions on networking considerations.
