Job summary

Mitre 10 (New Zealand) Limited is seeking a senior, specialist Inventory Controller for our Ponsonby store in Auckland. You will lead stock accuracy, collaborate with suppliers and store teams, and drive performance through proactive inventory management.

You will analyse data to identify trends, forecast demand, and influence purchasing decisions, ensuring stock is in the right place at the right time with strong accountability and ownership.

Qualifications

• Experience in inventory management, stock control, procurement, or similar analytical roles.
• Strong data interpretation and trend identification skills.
• Familiarity with ERP systems, ideally SAP.

Responsibilities

• Manage inventory through full procurement lifecycle using SAP and related systems.
• Monitor stock levels, forecast demand, and identify opportunities to improve availability and productivity.
• Partner with department managers to optimise ranging, inventory levels, and purchasing decisions.
• Build supplier relationships to proactively manage stock availability and opportunities.
• Maintain accurate physical and system inventory records and investigate discrepancies.
• Manage invoice reconciliation and ensure inventory transactions are accurate.
• Support promotional planning and ensure inventory commitments for key events.
• Lead and support stocktake activities and ongoing inventory control processes.
• Use data and reporting to identify risks and opportunities and make recommendations.
