Job summary

Mitre 10 Winton is seeking a motivated Inventory & Purchasing Manager to join our team, focused on keeping precise inventory records and supporting purchasing activities for our New Zealand store.

You will help with stocktakes, resolve discrepancies, process customer returns, and deliver excellent customer service while coordinating with the General Manager to maintain smooth day-to-day operations.

Qualifications

• Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office.
• Experience using point-of-sale (POS) systems.
• Excellent attention to detail and strong analytical skills.
• Good organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities.
• A proactive, solutions-focused attitude, with the initiative to work independently.

Responsibilities

• Maintaining accurate inventory records and ensuring stock integrity.
• Investigating and resolving stock discrepancies.
• Supporting stocktakes and ongoing inventory control processes.
• Assisting with GAP reporting, stock analysis, and inventory management.
• Processing customer returns, claims, and repairs.
• Providing excellent customer service and assisting with general store operations.
• Operating the POS system, serving customers at the checkout, and responding to enquiries from customers and suppliers.
