Job summary

Momentum Consulting in Auckland collaborates with a large professional services firm to appoint a commercially sharp Finance Manager to lead internal finance functions during a secondment. This high-visibility role requires precision in financial reporting and the ability to deliver reliable month-end close, variance analysis, and insightful commentary for senior leaders.

You will drive monthly and annual reporting, own budgeting cycles, and provide strategic finance guidance across divisions.

Qualifications

• CA/CPA qualified (or equivalent) with post-qualification experience in financial reporting or management accounting.
• Strong technical accounting skills focusing on month end, budgeting, and reporting.
• Ability to translate numbers into meaningful narratives for stakeholders.
• Experience in a large, complex organisation is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Produce accurate monthly financial reports for senior leadership and the Board.
• Lead annual budgeting, forecasting, and planning with clear narratives.
• Oversee balance sheet reconciliations and journals.
• Identify process improvements to enhance efficiency and integrity.
• Provide strategic finance guidance across divisions.
• Mentor team members where applicable.
