Job summary

New Zealand Police is recruiting two Senior Intelligence Analysts for the NZ Financial Intelligence Unit, based in Wellington or Auckland. Fixed term until 30 June 2027, these roles will deliver strategic intelligence products and contribute to national risk assessments, policy implementation and FATF/APG assessments.

Clear communication and collaboration across agencies are essential as is the ability to manage multiple complex priorities.

Qualifications

• Experience producing strategic intelligence, research, policy or analytical products.
• Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Proven ability to engage effectively with stakeholders.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and competing priorities.

Responsibilities

• Translate complex intelligence findings into clear, actionable recommendations for technical and non-technical audiences.
• Support priority National Risk Assessments and national intelligence requirements.
• Develop intelligence products such as typologies, threat assessments, alerts and advisories to strengthen prevention and disruption outcomes.
