Placements24 is seeking a Senior HVAC Mechanical Engineer to lead the HVAC design group for diverse commercial, institutional, and industrial projects. The role is based in Queenstown and requires strong technical leadership, project management, and a passion for energy-efficient solutions.

You will perform load calculations, system sizing, develop CAD/BIM drawings, and mentor junior engineers while ensuring compliance with building codes and standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• Minimum of 8 years' progressive experience in HVAC design and mechanical engineering, with senior/lead roles.
• Experience designing HVAC for commercial, institutional, and industrial projects.
• In-depth knowledge of thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, heat transfer, and psychrometrics.
• Proficiency in HVAC design software (Revit MEP, AutoCAD, IES VE, HAP).
• Strong understanding of building codes, energy efficiency standards, and sustainable design.
• Excellent project management, leadership, and communication skills.
• Ability to conduct site assessments and commissioning activities.

About the Role

Our client, a leading multi-disciplinary engineering consultancy, is seeking a highly skilled Senior HVAC Mechanical Engineer to lead their Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning design team. This critical role, based in **Queenstown, Eastern Cape**, involves the design, specification, and project management of HVAC systems for a diverse range of commercial, industrial, and institutional buildings. You will be responsible for ensuring that all HVAC solutions are energy-efficient, compliant with relevant standards, and meet the specific needs of our clients. Key Responsibilities

Requirements

• Professional Engineer (Pr.Eng) registration with ECSA is highly desirable.
