Ashburton District Council seeks a GIS professional to contribute to the development, delivery and management of GIS services and infrastructure. You’ll collaborate with end users to provide innovative GIS solutions that meet business needs and align with our GIS Strategy.
Based in Ashburton, you’ll champion GIS initiatives to enhance spatial understanding and learning, supporting organisational goals while delivering high‑quality services.

Working within the GIS team and across the organisation you’ll contribute to the on-going development, delivery, and management of GIS services and infrastructure at Ashburton District Council.
You’ll collaborate with our end users to bring innovative, practical solutions that meet business needs, support our Information Systems, and align with our GIS Strategy.
You’ll also champion GIS initiatives that enhance spatial understanding, learning, and development in support of our organisational goals.
You will bring experience and applied expertise of ESRI solutions, within a local government or similar environment. You’re confident working alongside teammates and end users to continuously improve GIS service and ensure solutions align with best practices and industry standards. You will also have:

The salary band for this position goes from $85,700 per annum to $100,900 per annum based on a 40-hour week. Starting salaries will be based on knowledge, skills and experience the successful candidate brings to the role.
