Placements24 is seeking a Senior Geotechnical Engineer for opportunities in Queenstown. The role oversees geotechnical investigations, lab testing, and design input for infrastructure projects, including roads, bridges, buildings, and dams. Strong leadership, client liaison, and project management skills are essential to deliver safe and compliant civil structures.

The ideal candidate will have a Master’s in Geotechnical/Civil Engineering, Pr. Eng.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Geotechnical/Civil Engineering with geotechnical specialization.
• Strong knowledge of soil and rock mechanics and earthworks.
• Experience with geotechnical investigations and design is essential.
• Proven ability to manage projects and client relationships.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage geotechnical investigation projects, including planning, site supervision, and data analysis.
• Interpret geological and geotechnical data from site investigations, including boreholes, CPTs, and in-situ testing.
• Perform laboratory testing and analyze results for soil and rock properties.
• Undertake foundation design, including shallow and deep foundations, for various structures.
• Conduct slope stability analysis, retaining wall design, and pavement design.
• Prepare comprehensive geotechnical investigation reports, including recommendations and design parameters.
• Liaise with clients, contractors, and other engineering disciplines to ensure successful project delivery.
• Oversee the work of junior geotechnical engineers and technicians.
• Ensure all work complies with relevant engineering standards, codes, and safety regulations.
• Stay abreast of advancements in geotechnical engineering principles and practices.

Education

Master's degree in Geotechnical Engineering or Civil Engineering with specialization in Geotechnical Engineering
