Job summary

Join Evolve Recruitment Group in Auckland as a senior data engineer in a modern cloud data and AI environment. You will design scalable data pipelines, implement robust data architectures, and collaborate closely with analytics and data science teams.

You’ll work in a hybrid Auckland Central setup (2 days in the office), mentor juniors, optimize performance, and help accelerate the organisation’s data strategy with high-quality, well-structured data.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of data engineering experience in a related role.
• Proficiency with Python and SQL for data ingestion, transformation and analytics.
• Experience with cloud data warehouses (Snowflake or similar).
• Exposure to Sigma and/or Snowflake Cortex is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Design, build and optimise scalable data pipelines and architectures in a cloud environment.
• Develop high-performance SQL and maintainable Python for ingestion, transformation and analytics.
• Enable AI/ML use cases by preparing high-quality, well-structured data.
• Collaborate with analytics and data science teams to support self-service reporting and insights.
• Champion data engineering best practices, performance optimisation and data quality standards.
