Job summary

PlaceMakers is seeking a Financial Reporting Manager to lead the financial accounting and reporting function. Based at our Penrose support office in Auckland, you will own consolidated reporting, statutory compliance, taxation, audits, and financial controls, while driving process improvements and reporting automation.

You will manage a team of around seven finance professionals, deliver timely insights to senior stakeholders, and partner with the Head of Finance on transformation initiatives in

Qualifications

• 10+ years' experience in financial accounting, reporting, taxation, audit, or finance leadership roles.
• Experience in complex, multi-site or multi-entity environments.
• Strong stakeholder management and business partnering ability.
• Deep knowledge of accounting standards, taxation, statutory reporting, and audit requirements.
• Experience with consolidations, month-end and year-end close, and financial controls.
• Ability to turn complex data into actionable insights.
• Proven experience leading and developing finance teams.
• Experience with system, reporting and process improvements; exposure to JDE, TM1 and Power BI.

Responsibilities

• Leading the month-end, half-year, and year-end financial reporting and consolidation processes.
• Managing statutory reporting, taxation compliance, audits, and financial controls.
• Providing expert technical accounting guidance across complex financial matters.
• Delivering clear, decision-useful analysis and reporting to senior stakeholders.
• Leading and developing a team of approximately seven finance professionals.
• Driving process improvement, system enhancements, and reporting automation initiatives.
• Managing finance workstreams for business projects and joint venture transitions.
• Building strong relationships across Finance, Operations, Support Office, and Group stakeholders.
