Job summary

Environment Canterbury is seeking an experienced Senior Survey Technician to lead field surveys across Canterbury, collect environmental and spatial data, and produce technical outputs for internal customers.

You will work with ArcGIS, AutoCAD Civil 3D, Pix4D and other tools, mentoring field teams and contributing to flood protection and coastal projects. A tertiary surveying qualification is essential.

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualification in surveying or a relevant field is required.
• Experience collecting and processing survey data with modern survey equipment/software is required.
• Strong technical and analytical skills with the ability to produce accurate outputs.

Responsibilities

• Plan and undertake field surveys across Canterbury.
• Collect and analyse survey, environmental and spatial data.
• Produce plans, reports and outputs for internal customers.
• Lead and support others in the field when required.
• Contribute to flood protection, river engineering and coastal projects.
