Job summary

ConsultANZ seeks an experienced Engineering Manager / Design & Engineering Manager in Auckland to drive concept to detailed designs for major infrastructure projects. You will provide technical leadership across geotechnical, utilities, hydrology, geometrics, and structures, while managing design scope, budgets and risks.

You will lead design reviews, oversee interfaces with consultants, and mentor multidisciplinary teams to deliver safe, compliant, and cost-effective solutions on large-scale

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related discipline (required).
• 15+ years of engineering experience with 5+ years in a leadership role.
• Strong technical engineering and design management background.
• Experience with major infrastructure projects and leading design teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead development and delivery of concept, tender, and detailed designs for major infrastructure projects.
• Provide technical leadership across geotechnical, utilities, hydrology, geometrics, and structural disciplines.
• Manage design scope, programmes, budgets, risks, opportunities, and deliverables.
• Lead design reviews to ensure safe, constructible, compliant, and cost-effective designs.
• Manage interfaces with design consultants and project teams.
• Oversee Safety in Design, design controls, and quality processes.
• Lead and mentor multidisciplinary engineering and design teams.
• Support major project development, tendering, and delivery of complex works.
