Job summary
Tait Communications in Christchurch, NZ, is seeking a Senior Software Engineer for our Terminals Team. You will design, develop, and maintain embedded firmware for mobile and portable radio products, focusing on Bluetooth and Wi‑Fi connectivity and platform software.
Ideal candidates have strong C/C++ and RTOS experience, and a track record in wireless tech, collaboration, and delivering robust software in demanding environments.
Qualifications
- Proven experience developing embedded firmware for commercial products.
- Strong programming skills in C/C++ and hands-on RTOS experience.
- Hands-on experience with Bluetooth and/or Wi‑Fi technologies and integration.
- Solid understanding of wireless communication principles and embedded system architecture.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain embedded firmware for mobile and portable radio products.
- Develop and support Bluetooth and Wi‑Fi solutions, including integration and performance optimisation.
- Contribute to platform software, connectivity frameworks, and core firmware components.
- Investigate and resolve complex system and connectivity issues across the stack.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver new features and product enhancements.
