Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Senior Electrical Field Service Engineer to install, commission, troubleshoot, and service advanced industrial machinery across Queenstown and surrounding areas. You will diagnose complex electrical systems, interpret schematics, and train customer personnel on operation and maintenance.

The role requires 8+ years in field service, strong safety knowledge, and the ability to travel extensively.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a relevant technical qualification.
• Minimum of 8 years of experience in field service engineering, specifically with complex industrial equipment.
• Proven expertise in troubleshooting and repairing AC/DC motors, drives, PLCs, HMIs, and industrial control systems.
• Strong understanding of electrical safety standards and procedures.
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting complex electrical schematics and diagnostic tools.

Responsibilities

• Install, commission, and perform scheduled maintenance on electrical systems and components of industrial machinery at customer sites.
• Diagnose and resolve complex electrical, electronic, and control system faults efficiently and effectively.
• Provide on-site technical support and training to customer personnel on equipment operation and maintenance.
• Interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, and technical manuals to guide troubleshooting and repair efforts.
• Collaborate with the engineering and support teams to identify root causes of recurring issues and propose solutions.
• Prepare detailed service reports, documenting all work performed, findings, and recommendations.
• Ensure all service activities are conducted in compliance with safety regulations and company policies.
• Manage spare parts inventory and equipment required for field service operations.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, ensuring high levels of satisfaction.
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of service procedures and product documentation.

This critical role involves installing, commissioning, troubleshooting, and repairing complex electrical and electronic systems of their specialized equipment.
