Placements24 in Queenstown is seeking a proactive Field Maintenance Engineer to join our on-site team. You will install, troubleshoot and repair specialized equipment, diagnose complex mechanical and electrical issues, and deliver high-quality service to clients while ensuring minimal downtime.

This hands-on role requires strong problem-solving, the ability to read schematics, and the drive to work independently across client sites within the Queenstown area.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or equivalent practical experience.

About the Role

Our client is seeking a proactive and skilled Field Maintenance Engineer to join their team based in Queenstown . This role involves providing on-site technical support for the installation, troubleshooting, and repair of specialized equipment. You will be responsible for diagnosing complex mechanical and electrical issues, implementing effective solutions, and ensuring client satisfaction through high-quality service. This is a hands-on position requiring excellent problem-solving abilities, strong technical knowledge, and the capability to work independently in various client environments, maintaining operational efficiency and contributing to the company's reputation for excellent service delivery in the Eastern Cape .

Key Responsibilities

• Perform on-site installation, maintenance, and repair of mechanical and electrical equipment.
• Conduct thorough diagnostics to identify the root cause of equipment failures or performance issues.
• Execute repairs and replace faulty components, ensuring all work meets quality and safety standards.
• Provide technical guidance and support to clients, addressing their concerns and ensuring operational continuity.
• Maintain detailed records of all service calls, repairs, and maintenance performed.
• Collaborate with the engineering team to provide feedback on product performance and suggest improvements.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical) or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Field Maintenance Engineer or in a similar technical role.
• Strong understanding of mechanical systems, electrical systems, and troubleshooting techniques.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and manuals.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work autonomously.
• Valid driver's license and willingness to travel within the Queenstown service area.
