Job summary

Stantec's Buildings team in New Zealand is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to lead the electrical services design for diverse building projects, including data centres and healthcare facilities.

You will deliver technically excellent solutions, coordinate with other disciplines, and provide mentorship and quality assurance while maintaining client relationships and contributing to business growth in a collaborative, safety-conscious environment.

Qualifications

• Degree in Electrical Engineering (BE or equivalent).
• 7 years’ experience in electrical building services design.
• Experience in Data Centres and Healthcare facilities.
• Proven ability to manage and deliver complex projects on time and on budget.
• Strong understanding of NZ building codes and electrical standards.
• Proficiency in electrical design software and documentation tools (AGI, Power CAD).
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Mentoring mindset and team leadership.
• Commitment to quality, safety, and continual professional development.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and delivery of electrical services on a variety of building projects.
• Coordinate with other engineering disciplines.
• Maintain strong client relationships and ensure project expectations are exceeded.
• Prepare high-quality design documentation, including specifications and drawings (REVIT knowledge desirable).
• Provide technical leadership, mentorship, and quality assurance for junior engineers.
• Contribute to business development activities and help grow the electrical services division.
