Temperzone Limited seeks a Senior Design Engineer to lead the development of HVAC products from concept to release. You will work with engineering, product development, compliance, and manufacturing teams while mentoring engineers and driving technical excellence across the business.

Ideal candidates have extensive HVAC/product design experience, strong CAD skills (Autodesk Inventor) and a hands-on leadership style to advance through technical and people leadership roles.

Job Description

About the role
We’re looking for an experienced Senior Design Engineer to lead the development of innovative HVAC products. This role combines technical leadership, project management, and product development, taking projects from concept through to design, testing, validation, and release. Working closely with engineering, product development, compliance, manufacturing, and operational teams, you’ll play a key role in delivering high-quality products while mentoring engineers and helping drive technical excellence across the business.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead new product development & improvement and projects from concept through to release
• Convert design briefs into technical requirements, project plans, and deliverable milestones
• Lead design reviews, and engineering project meetings, driving technical decisions and resolving design issues
• Ensure products are developed in line with compliance requirements, testing standards, and product development processes
• Drive project execution, ensuring timelines, risks, and deliverables are effectively managed
• Promote Design for Manufacturing principles throughout the development process
• Work closely with production, operations, procurement, quality, and product teams to deliver successful outcomes
• Provide technical expertise and guidance throughout the project lifecycle
• Support continuous product improvement initiatives and strategic engineering projects
• Mentor and develop engineering team members through coaching, training, and knowledge sharing
• Ensure all engineering documentation complies with company quality standards
• Promote safe work practices and support continuous improvement initiatives across the business
  

Desired Skills and Experience

What you’ll bring to the role

• Qualification in Mechanical, Electrical, Refrigeration, or a related Engineering discipline
• Extensive experience in HVAC, refrigeration, or product design environments
• Strong project management and product development experience
• Proven ability to lead engineering projects from concept through to implementation
• Experience with Design for Manufacturing principles, BOMs, and production systems
• Strong CAD skills, ideally Autodesk Inventor, and experience using PDM systems preferably Autodesk Vault
• Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and problem-solving skills
• A hands‑on approach with the ability to mentor and develop others
