Job summary

Health New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora is seeking a senior design delivery leader to coordinate design outcomes across major health infrastructure investments in Te Waipounamu. You will translate service strategy, models of care and investment objectives into safe, compliant, patient-centred design solutions.

Across the full lifecycle, you will lead design from early scoping through briefing, option development, design assurance, procurement, construction readiness and operational transition,

Qualifications

• Extensive experience leading design delivery across major capital programmes.
• Significant experience in clinical health planning and healthcare infrastructure design (AusHFG).
• Proven ability to translate service strategy into coordinated design briefs and schedules of accommodation.
• Experience leading design governance, assurance, risk, change control and option evaluation.
• Ability to integrate design with business case, procurement and operational transition requirements.
• Strong leadership of multidisciplinary design teams and stakeholders.
• Applied understanding of Te Tiriti o Waitangi with focus on equity and whole-life outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Lead design delivery across major capital programmes and portfolios.
• Translate service strategy, models of care and investment objectives into design briefs and Schedules of Accommodation.
• Lead design governance, assurance, risk, change control and option evaluation.
• Direct multidisciplinary consultants and coordinate stakeholders across clinical, operational, technical, commercial and construction domains.
• Maintain design intent through procurement and construction, ensuring safety, compliance and patient-centred outcomes.
