Job summary

Auckland Council is seeking a Senior Data Lead - Analytics Automation to join its Data team and report to the Head of Analytics. This role drives analytics excellence, leads platform initiatives and shapes the organisation's data maturity within a large local authority.

The role focuses on building reusable data assets, standardising analytics practices and delivering insights at pace through a modern data platform, while enabling AI strategy and governance.

Qualifications

• Experience in analytics, reporting and technical leadership in large, complex organisations.
• Leading implementation of a new platform/technology in a modern data tech stack.
• Design and implement scalable processes to deliver analytics at pace.

Auckland Council's Group Services Division is looking for a Senior Data Lead - Analytics Automation to join its Data team, reporting directly to the Head of Analytics. This critical and diverse role offers a unique opportunity to utilize data to tackle some of the city's most intriguing and complex challenges, significantly impacting Auckland's development and operations.

You could expect to work on:

• Development of patterns and standardised ways of working for analytics teams
• Development of reusable data assets to accelerate delivery of analytics
• Migration of critical enterprise reporting and data assets to a new Modern Data Platform
• Analytics and artificial intelligence strategy development

You will likely have experience in analytics, reporting and technical leadership roles from within large and complex and potentially political organisations.

We will be looking for specific experience with the key role requirements:

• Leading the implementation of a new platform/technology in a modern data tech stack
• Design and implementation of scalable processes to deliver analytics at pace
• Leading uplift of organisational maturity in data literacy and capability
