Job summary

EVT Limited is seeking a Lead Data Engineer in New Zealand (fully remote) to design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines and infrastructure. You will be hands-on across the full stack, from pipeline development to data quality and platform reliability, partnering with Analytics Engineering and BI to meet data requirements.

You will own CI/CD pipelines, manage cloud infra on AWS (EKS, CDK, Terraform), and build trust through robust data quality practices.

Qualifications

• 5+ years' experience in data analytics or engineering roles.
• Bachelor's degree in related field preferred.
• Strong hands-on experience building data pipelines with Python and Dagster.
• Proven experience deploying data infrastructure on AWS (EKS, CDK, Terraform).
• Experience owning CI/CD pipelines and GitOps for data platforms.
• Experience with Snowflake and dbt for data transformation.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain data pipelines using Python and Dagster.
• Deploy and manage data infrastructure on AWS (EKS, CDK, Terraform).
• Own CI/CD pipelines and apply GitOps to data platform delivery.
• Work with Snowflake and dbt to support data transformations.
• Champion data quality, testing, and reliability across the platform.
• Handle production incidents and data issues; drive resolution.
• Collaborate with Analytics Engineering, BI, and stakeholders to translate requirements.
• Coach and mentor less experienced engineers.
