Job summary

Synechron seeks a Senior Data Engineer to lead data migration initiatives and operate WhereScape ETL tooling for modernizing data warehouses. You will design scalable pipelines, coordinate with cross-functional teams, and drive legacy-to-modern transitions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering or a related discipline.
• 5+ years of experience in data engineering, ETL development, or data warehousing roles.
• Strong hands-on experience with WhereScape RED; exposure to WhereScape 3D is highly desirable.
• Proven experience delivering data migration projects involving legacy systems, warehouse modernization, or platform transitions.
• Strong expertise in SQL and relational databases such as SQL Server, Oracle, PostgreSQL, Snowflake, or similar.
• Deep understanding of data warehousing concepts, including dimensional modeling, star schemas, and historical data management.
• Experience with data profiling, cleansing, transformation, reconciliation, and validation.
• Strong knowledge of ETL/ELT architecture, batch processing, and data integration best practices.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Experience with cloud data platforms such as Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud.
• Familiarity with modern analytics and BI tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or Qlik.
• Experience with scripting languages such as Python, PowerShell, or Shell scripting.
• Knowledge of data governance, metadata management, audit controls, and compliance requirements.
• Experience working in Agile/Scrum delivery teams.
• Prior experience in large-scale enterprise transformation or modernization programs.
