Job summary

Datacom is seeking a Senior Cybersecurity Consultant to lead high-impact engagements across NZ organisations from Christchurch. You will shape cybersecurity posture, align security outcomes with business strategy, and help clients become more resilient while operating with strategic thinking and technical credibility.

You will work across diverse customers, building trusted relationships, delivering clear, actionable roadmaps, and mentoring colleagues to grow security capability within the team.

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualifications or equivalent in cyber security.
• Proven consulting experience and independent delivery.
• Knowledge of NZ and AU security standards.
• PCI-DSS experience is desirable.
• Strong communication with senior stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end security consulting engagements.
• Develop cybersecurity strategies and roadmaps.
• Design governance frameworks tailored to risk appetite.
• Conduct audits across domains and industries.
• Manage risk and prioritize security outcomes.
• Build and test security programs and awareness.
• Develop policies and compliance programs.
• Engage with senior leaders in workshops.
• Mentor colleagues and share knowledge.
