Job summary

Datacom in New Zealand seeks a Senior Cybersecurity Engineer to own critical platforms within CDOC, drive security improvements, and shape defense against today’s threats. You’ll work across tools and environments ensuring confidentiality, integrity, and availability of clients’ systems.

The role emphasizes incident response leadership, threat intelligence use, and collaboration with cross-functional teams.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years of experience in a technical cybersecurity focused role
• Self-motivated and proactive with the ability to manage workload
• Advanced understanding of attacker tools, techniques, and procedures
• Customer-centric approach ensuring consistency in service delivery
• Strong knowledge of networks, firewalls, proxies, and OS command-line tools
• Familiarity with threat intelligence frameworks such as MITRE ATT&CK and STIX/TAXII
• Experience with SIEM, XDR, endpoint protection, identity security and secure access solutions

Responsibilities

• Configure and update hardware and software to maintain secure, reliable environments
• Establish and manage user accounts and access controls
• Oversee and conduct backup and recovery tasks
• Implement operational and technical security controls in line with organisational policies
• Monitor threat intelligence feeds to identify emerging threats and vulnerabilities
• Lead and coordinate incident response efforts across cross-functional teams
