Job summary

Datacom in Wellington is seeking a senior leader to grow and lead the Cybersecurity Advisory & Governance practice across New Zealand. You will act as a trusted advisor to CIOs, CISOs and risk leaders, translating priorities into practical programmes of work and guiding governance and resilience initiatives.

You will own the growth and commercial performance, lead a high-performing team of consultants, and shape strategic opportunities while partnering across Datacom's cybersecurity capabilities

Qualifications

• Significant leadership experience across cybersecurity, technology, risk, consulting or professional services.
• Proven credibility with executive stakeholders and senior customer leaders.
• Deep expertise in cybersecurity strategy, governance, risk management, resilience.
• Strong commercial acumen with experience growing customer relationships or advisory practices.
• Ability to translate complex cyber risk into practical business investments.
• Experience leading, coaching, and developing high-performing teams.
• Excellent communication, facilitation, and executive presentation skills.
• Relevant qualification or equivalent professional experience in cybersecurity, technology, risk or business leadership.
• Desirable: CISO or senior consulting leadership experience with recognized security certifications.

Responsibilities

• Develop trusted relationships with executive stakeholders, including CIOs and CISOs.
• Lead strategic conversations on cybersecurity governance, risk, resilience and transformation.
• Translate cyber risk and regulatory obligations into clear investment roadmaps.
• Own growth and commercial performance of the Cybersecurity Advisory & Governance portfolio.
• Shape opportunities, proposals and major customer engagements.
• Lead and develop a high-performing team of cybersecurity consultants.
• Build repeatable advisory services, frameworks, and methodologies.
• Partner across Datacom's cybersecurity capability from strategy to implementation and operations.
• Represent Datacom at executive forums and industry events.
