Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, or related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in credit analysis or banking.
• Strong understanding of credit principles and financial statement analysis.
• Proficiency in financial modeling and analytical software.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• High level of attention to detail.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
• Experience in a hybrid environment is beneficial.
• Knowledge of South African banking regulations is an advantage.
• Must be authorized to work in South Africa.

Responsibilities

• Analyze financial statements, credit reports, and data to assess the credit risk of loan applicants.
• Prepare detailed credit reports and recommendations for loan approval or denial.
• Monitor the financial performance of existing borrowers and identify potential risks.
• Develop and maintain financial models to forecast borrower repayment capacity.
• Ensure compliance with internal credit policies, procedures, and regulatory guidelines.
• Work closely with loan officers and relationship managers to gather information and provide credit insights.
• Assist in the development and implementation of credit risk management strategies.
• Conduct industry and market research to support credit assessments.
• Advise on loan structuring and covenants to mitigate risk.
• Stay updated on credit markets and economic trends affecting loan portfolios.
