Join Holmes in Wellington and play a key role in delivering complex civil engineering projects with a team known for technical excellence, innovation and quality. This is an outstanding opportunity for an experienced Senior Civil Engineer who enjoys solving challenging technical problems, building strong client relationships, and taking real ownership of project outcomes. We are also open to candidates already operating at Project Director or Technical Director level, who are looking to bring their experience into a business with a strong reputation and a high-quality pipeline of work.

You will work alongside talented engineers and technical leaders, contribute to meaningful infrastructure outcomes, and help shape projects from early proposal stages through to successful delivery.

What you’ll bring

You will bring strong civil engineering and infrastructure design experience across a wide variety of project types and design elements. We are particularly interested in people with experience across some or all of general civils, three waters, roading, geometrics, pavement design, pipe networks, pressure pipes and pump systems. Ideally, you will also bring a civil background with experience in reservoirs and treatment plants.

You will be a technically capable and commercially aware engineer with proven experience leading projects and building trusted client relationships. You will be confident working across both technical delivery and stakeholder engagement, and comfortable contributing from proposals through to project completion. Strong communication skills, sound judgement and the ability to mentor or lead other engineers will be important in this role.
