Job summary

Foodstuffs North Island is seeking a Senior Centralised Payroll Support to join the People & Capability team. You’ll deliver accurate, customer-led payroll assistance to our member stores and act as a trusted contact for guidance, queries and issue resolution.

You’ll run payroll peer reviews, investigate issues and help reduce recurring errors while delivering payroll training and supporting transformation programmes across the centralised service.

Qualifications

• A strong payroll background within a medium-to-large organisation.
• Experience with payroll checks, peer reviews or quality assurance activities.
• Solid knowledge of NZ Holidays Act, PAYE, ACC and parental leave.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, planning and communication skills.
• PayGlobal or SAP payroll knowledge; NZPPA certification is an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Provide trusted payroll support and practical guidance to stores using our centralised payroll service.
• Undertake payroll peer reviews and quality checks to improve accuracy, consistency and confidence across the service.
• Investigate payroll issues, recommend practical solutions and help reduce recurring errors.
• Deliver payroll training, support new Centralised Payroll Specialists and provide service cover during leave, absences or peak periods.
• Contribute to continuous improvement, store ownership changes and future ways of working through transformation programmes.
• The position may also process payroll for stores joining the centralised service and support payroll records, reporting and PAYE requirement.
