Job summary

Foodstuffs North Island is seeking a Centralised Payroll Specialist to manage end-to-end payroll for a portfolio of stores. You will build trusted relationships with store owners and payroll contacts, delivering accurate, compliant payroll services and practical support.

You’ll handle high-volume payroll tasks, stay up to date with NZ Holidays Act and PAYE requirements, and contribute to process improvements.

Qualifications

• 3+ years experience as payroll administrator or similar role
• Strong knowledge of NZ Holidays Act, PAYE, ACC and parental leave
• Excellent attention to detail, time management and communication skills
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel
• PayGlobal or SAP experience would be advantageous

Responsibilities

• Processing accurate and timely end-to-end payroll for assigned stores
• Managing rosters in PayGlobal and maintaining payroll records, employee changes and leave balances
• Preparing payroll and PAYE reports, supporting audits and responding to store queries
• Applying relevant payroll legislation and escalating complex system or technical matters
• Providing cover across other stores and supporting process improvements and transitions
