Job summary

SJ International (NZ) Limited is seeking an experienced Buyer to source products from overseas and domestic suppliers, negotiate terms, and ensure a reliable supply of quality products. The successful candidate will contribute to pricing, stock planning and promotional activities for stores in Auckland.

Key duties include monitoring stock and sales, researching products and market trends, obtaining quotations, and managing purchase orders.

Qualifications

• At least three years of buying/procurement experience or a Level 4 qualification.
• Experience purchasing across multiple product categories.
• Strong stock management, pricing and sales data understanding.
• Excellent organisational and data-entry skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel or similar inventory/reporting tools.
• Good communication and relationship-management skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Experience sourcing from overseas and managing international shipments is an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Source products from overseas and domestic suppliers and obtain quotations.
• Negotiate prices, payment terms, delivery with suppliers.
• Prepare and manage purchase orders and maintain purchasing records.
• Forecast demand and determine quantities, styles and specs.
• Monitor stock levels, sales performance and supplier lead times.
• Develop buying plans based on seasonal demand and budgets.
• Support campaigns and new product launches.
