Job summary

Hamilton Wellmart Retail Limited is seeking a reliable Bookkeeper to join our team. The role focuses on accurate financial records, day-to-day bookkeeping, payroll, and supporting management with financial information.

The successful candidate will have NZQF Level 4+ or 3+ years bookkeeping experience, knowledge of accounts payable/receivable, payroll and payroll tax (PAYE), and proficiency with accounting software. Unrestricted NZ work rights preferred.

Qualifications

• A relevant NZQF Level 4 qualification or equivalent, or at least three years of bookkeeping experience.
• Practical knowledge of accounts payable and accounts receivable.
• Experience with bank reconciliations and maintaining financial records.
• Experience with payroll and PAYE records.
• Attention to detail and accuracy.
• Good organisation and time-management skills.
• Ability to work independently and in a team.
• Strong communication and problem-solving abilities.
• Experience with computerised bookkeeping systems.

Responsibilities

• Maintain up-to-date financial records using bookkeeping systems.
• Record daily, weekly and monthly transactions including income and expenses.
• Manage accounts payable and receivable, invoicing, payments and follow-ups.
• Reconcile records with bank statements and investigate discrepancies.
• Maintain the general ledger and payroll records.
• Assist with GST/PAYE documentation and IRD compliance.
• Prepare financial reports and assist the Accountant as needed.
