Job summary

Westpac New Zealand Ltd is seeking a Senior Banking Adviser for the Nelson Branch. The role is a full‑time, permanent position from Monday to Friday, acting as the senior voice in the branch and guiding customers through lending decisions.

You will own the end‑to‑end lending journey, helping customers from first home purchases to investments, while using digital tools to simplify banking and deliver exceptional service to the community.

Qualifications

• 3+ years’ experience in banking and/or lending
• Level 5 Residential Lending Qualification (or working toward it)
• Strong knowledge of lending, banking products, and regulatory requirements
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem‑solving skills
• Digital confidence, with the ability to coach customers and colleagues
• Experience building relationships, influencing outcomes, and supporting or mentoring others
• Strong organisational skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to ethical, customer‑centric decision‑making
