Job summary

Westpac New Zealand Ltd. is seeking a Senior Software Developer to design, develop and maintain scalable backend applications and API integrations.

You will bring 7+ years’ experience across backend and API development, with Java and Spring Boot, and drive architecture, performance and security improvements. Lead solution design, mentor junior developers, collaborate with cross-functional teams from concept to delivery, and document SDLC processes.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of backend and API development experience.
• Proficient in Java and Spring Boot.
• Experience with DevOps, CI/CD, containerisation and deployment automation.
• Strong knowledge of database design, transactions and queries.
• Ability to mentor juniors and lead solution design.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain scalable backend applications.
• Lead API design, performance and security best practices.
• Mentor junior developers and share knowledge.
