Job summary

Susie Vokins Associates (SVA) seeks a Senior External Auditor to join our Auckland team. You will work with a diverse client base, performing standard and complex audits, and handling ad hoc tasks as required.

This is a permanent, full-time role with 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday. You will bring at least 4 years of external audit experience in a global mid‑tier firm in New Zealand, knowledge of NZ accounting standards, and familiarity with CaseWare.

Qualifications

• Minimum 4 years’ External Audit experience in a global mid‑tier firm in New Zealand.
• Experience with New Zealand accounting standards is required.
• Experience using CaseWare for audits.
• NZ CA qualification or in progress is required.

Responsibilities

• Directly work with clients and understand their needs.
• Check compliance with policies and procedures during audits.
• Test internal controls and substantiate financial information.
• Ensure budgets are met and explain variances where they occur.

Opportunity to work for a reputed firm. Our client is seeking a Senior External Auditor to join their team.

The Role

As one of their Senior External Auditors, you will work alongside a team of professionals getting exposure to a diverse range of clients.

You will be tasked with a range of standard (and complex) audits and ad hoc work as required.

Note that this is a permanent role, with 37.5 hours a week, Monday to Friday.

Key Responsibilities

• Working directly with clients, understanding clients' needs
• Checking compliance with policies and procedures
• Testing internal controls and substantiating financial information.
• Ensuring budgets are met on the audit undertaken and provide explanations for variances

What You Will Need

To be successful in this role, you will also have the following experience and qualifications:

• A minimum of 4 years’ experience in External Audit experience. Note that you must also be currently working as a Senior Auditor in a global mid tier firm in New Zealand
• Experience with New Zealand accounting standards
• Experience in CaseWare
• A NZ CA professional qualification (or in the process of completing the NZ CA qualification)

• A great work ethic
