Bank of New Zealand (BNZ) in Wellington seeks an experienced Senior API Developer to join our Core Ledger Replacement program. You will lead the delivery of complex features, design scalable systems, and own on-call production support within your domain, helping ensure reliability and performance.

This fixed-term role runs through to September 2028, offering flexible working and a collaborative, high-impact engineering culture focused on cloud-based core banking transformation.

Qualifications

• Experience leading complex technical work across systems or teams.
• Strong engineering background in Java ecosystem and modern APIs.
• Ability to design, deploy and maintain scalable features with long-term sustainability.
