Job summary

Synechron is seeking a Senior Android Developer to design, develop and modernize Android banking applications using Kotlin and Jetpack Compose. You will work with stakeholders to deliver customer-centric digital banking solutions and build scalable architectures that integrate with cloud platforms and APIs.

The role requires 7+ years of Android experience, solid knowledge of MVVM and Clean Architecture, and hands-on CI/CD and security practices.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of Android app development experience.
• Strong Kotlin, Jetpack Compose, Android SDK, and Architecture Components skills.
• Proven experience delivering digital banking, payments, and financial services apps.
• Experience in New Zealand banking environments.
• Solid understanding of MVVM, Clean Architecture, DI, and modular development.
• Experience integrating APIs, microservices, and cloud platforms.
• Knowledge of mobile security, authentication, encryption, and secure coding.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines, Git workflows, and automated testing frameworks.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and enhance Android applications using Kotlin and Jetpack Compose.
• Lead mobile modernization, migrating from legacy frameworks to modern architectures.
• Collaborate with stakeholders, architects, product teams, and engineers to deliver banking solutions.
• Build and maintain reusable components, design systems, and scalable architectures.
• Integrate apps with APIs, cloud platforms, payment gateways, and enterprise services.
• Drive performance tuning, reliability improvements, and operational excellence.
• Implement security best practices aligned with banking requirements.
• Support CI/CD, automated testing, and DevSecOps practices.
• Mentor development teams and contribute to technical leadership initiatives.
