Job summary

Synechron is seeking an experienced Senior Android Engineer to design, develop, and modernize mobile banking solutions for the NZ market. You will lead Kotlin-based Android apps, implement Jetpack Compose, and collaborate with stakeholders to deliver scalable, secure systems.

You will mentor teams, optimize performance, ensure CI/CD and DevSecOps practices, and help transition legacy architectures to modern MVVM modular designs in a banking environment.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of Android app development experience.
• Strong Kotlin and Jetpack Compose expertise.
• Experience with Android SDK and Architecture Components.
• Experience delivering digital banking, payments and financial services apps.
• Experience in NZ banking environments.
• Knowledge of MVVM, Clean Architecture, DI and modular development.
• Experience with APIs, microservices, cloud platforms.
• Security practices in mobile apps; secure coding.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop and enhance Android apps using Kotlin and Jetpack Compose.
• Lead mobile modernization and migration from legacy Android frameworks.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to deliver customer-centric banking solutions.
