Job summary

Abbott is seeking a Laboratory Manager - Analytical for the Pokeno, New Zealand site. You will lead the analytical laboratory to ensure accurate, timely and compliant testing in support of manufacturing operations, product quality and regulatory obligations.

You will provide technical leadership on methods, validation and data integrity, maintain accreditation, and drive a culture of quality and continuous improvement across the team.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Analytical Science, Food Science, Microbiology or related field.
• Minimum 7 years’ laboratory experience with leadership responsibility in regulated environments.
• Strong knowledge of ISO/IEC 17025 and regulatory compliance.
• Experience leading investigations, CAPA, audits and non-conformance management.
• Proven ability to lead technical teams while managing laboratory operations.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage laboratory operations to deliver safe, accurate testing within service levels.
• Maintain ISO/IEC 17025 accreditation and Abbott quality standards.
• Act as laboratory representative during accreditation assessments and inspections.
• Provide governance of LIMS, data integrity and system validation.
• Review investigations and quality decisions within delegated authority.
