Job summary

Abbott Laboratories in New Zealand is seeking a Maintenance Lead to oversee operations at our Pokeno production facility. You will ensure equipment operates safely, reliably, and cost-effectively to meet manufacturing targets, while fostering a world-class maintenance culture through leadership and asset optimization.

The role emphasizes coaching, planning and scheduling, cross-functional collaboration, and rapid breakdown resolution.

Qualifications

• Mechanical or Electrical NZQA Level 4 trade or equivalent.
• Experience with CMMS software.
• Desirable NZCE, Dairy Degree or Engineering Diploma.

Responsibilities

• Guide, develop, and mentor maintenance staff for high performance and safety.
• Plan and schedule preventive and corrective maintenance activities.
• Collaborate with area Leads, Production Schedulers and Leads to plan site work.
• Own resource coordination for rapid equipment breakdown resolution.
• Identify, minimize, and eliminate maintenance-related losses.
• Build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
