Job summary

Abbott Laboratories in New Zealand (Pokeno, Waikato) is seeking a Compliance Manager to lead plant compliance across the site. You will ensure the quality system is effective and that all areas comply with GMPs and regulatory requirements while preparing for audits.

As SQF Practitioner, you will develop and maintain HACCP programs, validate changes, drive continuous improvement with Business Excellence tools, and oversee CAPA activities to close actions and improve product quality.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in scientific or technical discipline OR an equivalent combination of education and work experience.
• Strong judgment, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication, with strong interpersonal and consulting abilities.
• Well-organized and tech-savvy with regulatory knowledge relevant to the role.

Responsibilities

• Implement and maintain the effectiveness of the quality system.
• Ensure all plant functions comply with GMPs, required regulations and customer/regulatory practices.
• Serve as the plant contact for audits and manage all audit activities.
• Act as the SQF Practitioner, develop and maintain the HACCP program, and validate changes.
• Provide continuous process improvement support using Business Excellence tools to maximize productivity.
• Review all complaint investigations and implement corrective actions when necessary.
