Job summary

The Treasury (TeTaiŌhanga) is seeking an experienced Senior Advisor, Strategy and Performance, to support planning, performance reporting and accountability across the organisation. You will work with senior leaders to align priorities with delivery and drive reporting products, including statutory documents.

You will join the Strategy and Performance Team on a fixed-term basis to cover parental leave, bringing structure to complexity and delivering clear, actionable advice for decision-makers.

Qualifications

  • Experience in organisational planning, performance reporting, governance, strategy or a related field.
  • Demonstrated ability to coordinate complex work programmes involving multiple stakeholders and tight deadlines.
  • Experience developing high‑quality reporting, briefings and accountability documents for senior audiences.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and coordinate organisational planning and priority-setting processes across Treasury.
  • Provide strategic advice and performance insights to internal governance committees and other senior leaders.
  • Drive and coordinate organisational performance reporting, helping leaders track progress against key priorities and measures.
  • Lead the development of major accountability and reporting products, including the Annual Report and other external performance documents.
  • Support governance processes by providing high‑quality analysis, reporting and advice.
  • Identify emerging risks, issues, opportunities and interdependencies that may affect organisational performance.

The Strategy and Executive Services Division playsa central rolein supporting the Secretary and Executive Leadership Team. We help set organisational direction, drive strategic planning and performance, strengthen governance and accountability, and ensure Treasury is well positioned to deliver on its priorities.

We are seeking an experienced Senior Advisor to join our Strategy and Performance Team on a fixed-term basis (or secondment) to cover parental leave.

This role sits at the centre of Treasury's strategic planning and performance system. You will work closely with senior leaders across the organisation to support priority-setting, business planning, organisational performancereportingand external accountability processes.

You will provide trusted advice and insights that help leaders understand progress against Treasury'sobjectives,identifyemerging issues and opportunities, and make informed decisions about priorities and delivery. You will also play a key role in coordinating key organisational reporting products, including statutory and accountability documents.

This is an ideal opportunity for someone who enjoys connecting strategy with delivery, bringing structure to complexity, and working across organisational boundaries to achieve shared outcomes.

In this role, you will:

  • lead and coordinate organisational planning and priority-setting processes across Treasury
  • support the development and monitoring of strategicplanning processes, ensuring alignment between organisational priorities and delivery activitiestowards impact
  • provide strategic advice and performance insights toour internal governance committeesand other senior leaders
  • drive andcoordinate organisational performance reporting, helping leaders track progress against key priorities,outcomesand measures, with impact at the fore
  • lead the development of major accountability and reporting products, including the Annual Report and other external performance documents
  • support governance processes by providing high-quality analysis,reportingand advice
  • identifyemerging risks, issues,opportunitiesand interdependencies that may affect organisational performance
  • contribute to the continuous improvement of Treasury's planning,reportingand performance management frameworks

You are a confident and credible advisor with experience working in strategy, planning, performance reporting,governanceor organisational performance. You thrive in complex environments and are comfortable engaging with senior stakeholders, managing competing priorities and translating information into clear advice and actionable insights.

You bring sound judgement, strong relationship managementskillsand a genuine interest in helping organisations deliver on their strategicobjectives.

You will bring:

  • experience in organisational planning, performance reporting, governance,strategyor a related field
  • demonstrated ability to coordinate complex work programmes involving multiple stakeholders and tight deadlines
  • experience developing high-quality reporting,briefingsand accountability documents for senior audiences
  • strong analytical skills and the ability to synthesise complex information into concise insights and recommendations
  • excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • strong stakeholder engagement and relationship management capability
  • a relevant tertiary qualification or equivalent experience

The base salary range for this role is $127,621.55 to $150,143.00. Appointments will be made based on the successful candidate's skills,experienceand alignment with the requirements of the role.
