Job summary

The Treasury of New Zealand in Wellington Central is seeking a Senior Advisor, Strategy and Performance on a 12-month fixed-term or secondment basis. You will support priority-setting, planning and performance reporting across Treasury, translating strategy into delivery.

You will provide trusted advice and insights to senior leaders, coordinating key organisational reporting products and strengthening governance to deliver on Treasury’s priorities.

Qualifications

• Experience in organisational planning, performance reporting, governance, or a related field.
• Ability to coordinate complex work programmes with multiple stakeholders and tight deadlines.
• Experience developing high-quality reporting, briefings and accountability documents for senior audiences.
• Strong analytical skills and ability to translate complex information into concise insights and recommendations.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong stakeholder engagement and relationship management capability.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate organisational planning and priority-setting processes across Treasury.
• Support development and monitoring of strategic planning processes, ensuring alignment between priorities and delivery activities toward impact.
• Provide strategic advice and performance insights to internal governance committees and other senior leaders.
• Drive and coordinate organisational performance reporting, helping leaders track progress against key priorities, outcomes and measures, with impact at the fore.
• Lead development of major accountability and reporting products, including the Annual Report and other external performance documents.
• Support governance processes by providing high-quality analysis, reporting and advice.
• Identify emerging risks, issues, opportunities and interdependencies that may affect organisational performance.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of Treasury's planning, reporting and performance management frameworks.
