Job summary
Nokia in Hamilton, New Zealand seeks an Advanced Technical Support Engineer to deliver advanced support for core network elements, including 7x50 switches, 7210, and related protocols. You will work with NFM-P, NSP and AMS, participate in a 24x7 on-call roster, and collaborate with the Network Operations Centre and vendor teams to ensure service availability.

Qualifications
- Experience in advanced technical support for carrier/enterprise networks.
- Fluent English for customer and vendor interactions and reporting.
- Experience with on-call 24x7 support and incident restoration.
- Experience developing inter-device applications via REST/GPRC/Netconf.
- Familiarity with Nokia 7x50, 7210 switches and related protocols.
Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot and restore service during complex incidents across networks.
- Support 24x7 on-call rotations and night-time maintenance activities.
- Assist Network Operations Centre and liaise with vendor support.
- Follow detailed procedures and adapt to changing circumstances.
- Guide technical staff with clear instructions on network elements.
- Perform risk assessments before technical activities.
- Escalate complex cases for technical or customer impact.
- Engage in incident reviews, root cause analysis, and improvements.
- Identify repetitive tasks and propose automation opportunities.
- Work with Nokia management systems: NFM-P, NSP, AMS.
