Christchurch Casino is seeking motivated individuals to join our Security & Customer Care team in Christchurch, Canterbury. The role focuses on delivering excellent customer service alongside protective security for guests, staff and property.

Both Full Time and Part Time positions are available with various weekly hours. Training in security certification and first aid is provided as part of the role, with opportunities for development within a dynamic, ever-changing environment.

Do you want to join a high performing team, and work in a unique environment? We are seeking motivated individuals to join our team. Your primary focus will be excellent customer service and communication. You will be responsible for providing security, support and protection for our guests, employees and company property. In this role you will carry out a range of customer service tasks and security activities including entry screening, crowd control, roving patrols and administering basic first aid. You will need to be able to react professionally and rationally in pressure situations.

Full Time position is available with a minimum of 40 hours per week.

Part Time position is available with a minimum of 30 hours per week; however, more hours may be available depending upon business demands.

To be successful in the role you will have:

• A valid Ministry of Justice COA, or confirmation that you are working towards it would be an advantage
• Previous door experience would be an advantage
• Experience in conflict resolution, tact, diplomacy and negotiating skills
• Integrity and a strong work ethic
• The ability to work unsupervised and at the same time contribute positively to a team
• An ability to work in a structured and regulated environment
• A valid First Aid certificate would be an advantage

Reliability and commitment is essential; you also will need to be flexible and able to work a variety of shifts during our opening hours.

Our current opening hours are Monday - Sunday 12pm-4am

This is a licensed position within the Christchurch Casino and requires a Certificate of Approval (COA) issued by the Department of Internal Affairs.

You will need to meet the following criteria:

• Be at least 20 years of age
• Clean police record
• Be a NZ Citizen or Permanent Resident
• Or hold a current and valid Open Work Permit - please note if you hold a work permit, a translated clear police certificate from your home country is required for the COA. You must also have no less than 12 months remaining on your visa
