ACG Parnell College in Auckland seeks a permanent secondary maths teacher to join our Mathematics Department. The successful candidate will contribute to curriculum delivery, assessment practices, and the wider school community. Term 1, 2027 start.

Qualifications

• Curriculum expertise (Mathematics): Plans and delivers engaging units aligned to the Cambridge Curriculum.
• Effective classroom practice: Create a positive, well-organised learning environment and purposeful tasks.
• Assessment & reporting: Design valid assessments and provide timely feedback to students and parents.
• EdTech & pedagogy: Integrate technology and modern teaching approaches to build problem-solving.
• Pastoral care & behaviour management: Tutor support and uphold school expectations.
• Collaboration & contribution: Team player, share resources, and support school events.

Responsabilités

• Curriculum expertise (Mathematics): Proven experience planning and delivering engaging units aligned to the Cambridge Curriculum, with accurate assessment and clear records of progress.
• Effective classroom practice: Ability to create a positive, well-organised learning environment, set purposeful homework/extension tasks, and use varied strategies to support strong academic progress for all learners.
• Assessment & reporting: Skilled in designing valid assessments, moderating standards, providing timely feedback, and communicating progress to students and parents with professionalism.
• EdTech & contemporary pedagogy: Confident integrating technology and modern teaching approaches (e.g. inquiry, design thinking, workshop-based learning) to build problem-solving, independence, and curiosity.
• Pastoral care & behaviour management: Consistent, fair, and calm approach as a tutor and classroom teacher; able to provide additional academic/pastoral support and uphold school expectations.
• Collaboration & contribution: Track record of working as a team player – sharing resources, engaging in appraisal/PLD, supporting school events, and contributing positively to the wider school community.
