Job summary

Whangaparaoa College in Auckland seeks a passionate Mathematics teacher for Years 7–15 (including wharekura). You will design engaging lessons, foster mathematical thinking, and show how Mathematics connects with students’ lives and the world around them.

This is a key role in our forward-thinking school as we implement a three-school model from 2027. You will contribute to curriculum development, assessment and moderation within the Mathematics faculty and support learners to build strong

Qualifications

• Must hold current NZ teacher registration and practising certificate.
• Proven ability to design engaging Mathematics lessons and assessments.

Responsibilities

We are embarking on an exciting new vision for a three-school model for our kura from the beginning of 2027. This is an exciting opportunity to join our forward-thinking school as we proactively respond to roll growth and the new curriculum, embedding our curriculum design criteria and effective teaching model to ensure every learner and teacher thrives.

We are seeking an enthusiastic and knowledgeable Mathematics teacher to join our collaborative Mathematics faculty. This is an exciting opportunity to inspire curiosity, mathematical thinking and a genuine understanding of how Mathematics connects with learners’ lives and the world around them.

Our kura delivers an innovative curriculum focused on knowing and growing learners as individuals. You will design engaging and appropriately challenging learning, build strong relationships and maintain high expectations for learner participation, progress and achievement.

We are looking for a reflective and collaborative teacher with strong Mathematics curriculum knowledge and a commitment to inclusive and culturally sustaining classroom practice. You will contribute positively to curriculum development, assessment and moderation within the faculty and support learners to build strong pathways into further study and future opportunities.
