Job summary

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging mathematics units aligned to the Cambridge Curriculum.
• Create a positive, well-organised learning environment and set homework/extension tasks.
• Design valid assessments, moderate standards, and provide timely feedback to students and parents.
• Integrate technology and modern teaching approaches to develop problem-solving and independence.
• Provide pastoral care and manage behaviour as tutor and classroom teacher.
• Collaborate with the maths team, share resources, participate in appraisal/PLD, and support school events.

We are currently seeking applications for a permanent secondary mathematics teacher to join our incredible maths department. Key responsibilities:

• Mathematics curriculum expertise – proven experience planning and delivering engaging units aligned to the Cambridge Curriculum, with accurate assessment and clear records of progress.
• Effective classroom practice – ability to create a positive, well‑organised learning environment, set purposeful homework/extension tasks, and use varied strategies to support strong academic progress for all learners.
• Assessment and reporting – skilled in designing valid assessments, moderating standards, providing timely feedback, and communicating progress to students and parents with professionalism.
• EdTech and contemporary pedagogy – confident integrating technology and modern teaching approaches (such as inquiry, design thinking, workshop‑based learning) to build problem‑solving, independence, and curiosity.
• Pastoral care and behaviour management – consistent, fair, and calm approach as a tutor and classroom teacher; able to provide additional academic/pastoral support and uphold school expectations.
• Collaboration and contribution – track record of working as a team player—sharing resources, engaging in appraisal/PLD, supporting school events (for example, open days), and contributing positively to the wider school community.
