Job summary

Tradestaff is seeking experienced painters for a mix of residential and commercial developments in Canterbury with potential work in Otago and Southland. You will be responsible for preparatory work, selecting paints, applying finishes, and wallpapering where needed.

Ideal candidates have 3+ years of experience, a trade qualification, strong safety focus, and the ability to pass a drug test. NZ work rights and references are essential. Competitive pay and long-term opportunities offered.

Qualifications

• 3+ years experience in painting trades or similar.
• Trade Qualification is preferred.
• At least 2 work references.
• 100% commitment to Health and Safety.
• Able to pass a pre-employment drug test.
• Valid current work visa or rights to work in NZ.
• Proficiency in surface preparation and painting techniques.

Responsibilities

• Erect scaffolding and ladders; protect areas from paint splatter.
• Prepare surfaces by removing old paint, fixing woodwork, filling holes and cracks.
• Select and mix paints to required colours.
• Apply paints, varnishes and stains with brushes, rollers and sprays.
• Hang wallpaper; match patterns and trim edges.
